His politics of course are dreadful but itâs also weird to live in a post-statesmanship age where it no longer matters whether you can put a sentence together. Even the most morally irredeemable politicians used to be able to TALK well. That was their whole thing.

It doesn't need to be possible if you are in opposition and you know that centrists, obsessed with finding a middle ground that you keep moving, will deliver 80% of what you want and you can call them failures for not doing the other 20%.

I'm fucking tired, man. Found a promising TV show released this year and it's already cancelled because not enough people watched it. So many streaming services, how the hell are you meant to watch everything fast enough to see when something has the juice??? This just doesn't work

I wanted to get a video of this ghost crab but every time I got close to their hole they scuttled back in, so I tried getting clever with it. I made a little sandcastle and shoved my phone into it, hit record, and walked away. Crab was VERY suspicious of this addition to their environment.

The reason left-wing censorship originally got so much attention was it was "man bites dog". All the articles a decade ago were based on the premise that we expect this from the right but the left should be better. So when the right does it, it's not a reaction â it's what they've always done.

Heard this song again recently and noticed for the first time that they also refer to a "voyage of love". So love is at once the vessel, the cargo, AND the journey. It's a conceptual metaphor nightmare

There isn't even a conspiracy theory about how this Trump birthday book could possibly be a hoax. If the WaPo wants to both-sides things so the conspiracy theorists get equal credit, couldn't they at least restrict it to conspiracy theorists with conspiracy theories, however wild and implausible?

This is also the point that Labour have failed to grasp. They can promise as many deportations and draconian visa rules as they like but all that does is maintain the far right narrative that there's some kind of problem with migrants, the far right don't want anything less than ethnic cleansing
