Half man, half-wit. Dublin, Ireland. I have a book.

The most stressed out I've ever been about Christmas was when I was 16 and I got my first ever job, working at M&S in Dundrum. As soon as I started I kept hearing these myths about the Christmas Eve Waste Sale, where all the food that wasn't sold on the 24th was marked down 90%.

I've never held a hurl in my life and I am a longtime advocate for cutting Cork off from the rest of the country and letting it float into the sea so it's quite the thing that that Killeagh song makes me want to run through walls.

I've seen a lot of criticism of Marlay Park as a concert venue just because of things like acoustics, organisation and accessibility but have these people considered that it's also very close to my house?

Okay, can somebody tell me I'm not crazy. Does anyone else remember an ad for the Sopranos on TG4 (RTE?) in the late 90s, where there was a weird song that played over the scenes that went "I love you more than I love Tony Soprano. In case you didn't know, that's a hell of a lot-o"?

Hello to another day spent guzzling water while surrounded by cooling fans. It's like being Gregor Samsa if he woke up to find himself transformed into a datacentre.

This week, I attempt to indoctrinate my sport-averse son into the ways of football, by telling him the game's one true dirty little secret: it is the nerdiest thing on planet Earth.

I'm a recent convert to the gym so I have never had to deal with training in the warm weather. Existing sweat-wicking technology is not advanced enough to deal with going on with me. I need a t-shirt made by someone who designs flood plains.

In order to unlock the summer bedroom fan and duvet, you must first venture into the attic. Sure, it's 100°C up there but as long as you carefully put away the fan last year and didn't - to pick a ridiculous example - just fuck all the Christmas stuff on top of it, then it should be fine.
