There’s debate about talking to the press tonight. I’ve tried to explain that two things are happening on the ground. Offensive, observing ICE like what Will is doing, and defensive, helping vulnerable people. I am fine if offense talks to responsible press as long as they take precaution.

DHS has a whole citizen detainment system set up in Minnesota. They snatch citizens off the street (often with proof they are citizens), detain them for a few hours, steal their phones, then release them into the cold. It ain’t about deporting citizens; it’s about terrorizing a whole population.

One of the hardest things to explain to people who aren’t here is the very real feeling that we are in a war against the federal government. Not only are we occupied by unaccountable armed, masked paramilitaries, but we are constantly aware our neighbors might be abducted in the blink of an eye.

It seems that Tom Homan’s shift to a more humane approach is just ICE agents targeting local schools. Reports of parents getting abducted outside of schools, agents entering schools, hanging out around children’s bus stops.

We did not properly punish the confederates. We did not properly punish the insurrectionists on January 6th. We have to punish ICE. They can’t be allowed to slink back into their communities quietly. Expose them. Arrest them. Convict them. Imprison them.

my son is five, same age as Liam Ramos. you don't need to have a child the same age to be fucking horrified by the violence we are doing (and HAVE BEEN doing) upon immigrant children in this nation. but that he keeps asking for his spidey backpack is the kind of detail that rips my heart in two.

Here is a video taken just this morning of ICE pepper spraying my friend who was standing several feet away, and behind a fence, from agents attempting an abduction. Nothing about their conduct has changed. We need to continue our observations but please do so as safely as possible. Fuck ICE.

People keep talking about how decentralized the resistance is in MN, and yes there is no singular figure, committee, or group coordinating all things. That's very different than there being no structures (plural), groups (plural), or leaders (plural) keeping things going and building things further.

Yesterday was the 4th day in the past week with 100+ evictions filed in a day. Several renter-dense cities (Minneapolis, St. Louis Park, & Brooklyn Center) have local ordinances requiring 30-day notices prior to eviction for non-payment, so we are likely not seeing all the ICE-related cases yet.
