Business rent is way too high on Mag (not Miracle) Mile so companies are just shuffling around. H&M moved two blocks down the road to save cash. He's blaming "murder and crime" in one of the safest parts of the city because the real problem is "landlords." Almost like that's the whole gambit.

Hats off to Koegel. Seems like she fought hard for transit funding against some seemingly dishonest shenanigans.

If you want to explain transit use, you need to care about whether transit is useful. Technology is a poor approximation of that. All technologies can have a huge range of usefulness, and none are useful if you ignore the network design and urban form. 6/6

People say bad things about nepotism, but I kinda get it. Children get a lot of unteachable skills from their parents that allow them to exceed in the same field. For instance: I've become really good at drinking 4-7 beers and complaining about the inferior quality of modern consumer appliances.

Trump learned an important lesson here. Nothing will make multi-millionaire, privileged Democratic congresspeople (and their most vocal donors) cave faster than messing with air travel before a holiday. He arbitrarily cut flights, and Dems immediately folded. What a bunch of country club pansies.
