I hate the line that the Constitution is "colorblind." The reconstruction amendments gave the Constitution eyes with which to see discrimination, ears with which to hear the cries of the oppressed, and a mouth with which to speak the law against it. The Court made it a blind deaf mute for a century.

this is important. being a CEO, being a politician, anything like this should involve walking a knife's edge between accolades/wealth/power and prosecution. you should be constantly at risk of going to jail. you can fuck too much stuff up & you need to be properly incentivized. that's just economics

the majority of housing in the EU, south america, and asia is solid construction (masonry, concrete) and does tend to have thicker walls - allowing for recessed windows and relief with jambs. it's a detail that is virtually non-existent in most US multifamily

idk man, every time we let "the market" decide on these sorts of things they end up producing even more oversized SUVs and pickup trucks to sell to people who are mostly driving to the grocery store and back. have we considered that "the market" is an idiot

A minor pet peeve of mine is when the thimble and digital readout on electronic thread pitch micrometers are off. Zero with change depending on the size of anvils you use which is dependent on the thread pitch you are checking.

just 5 projects in ballard are adding almost *900* parking spaces in a dense, walkable neighborhood - on a street that should be car-free this is exactly why eliminating parking minimums is not enough to meet our climate goals we need parking *caps* - especially in areas of frequent transit

once you see it, you can't unsee it also - despite claims otherwise... point access blocks and fine grained urbanism go hand in hand. this is more parcels per block than a streetcar suburb in the US

More micro retail in France: ~150 square feet and a dream is all you need for an organic juice bar with both table and bar seating. Would love to see more opportunities (spaces!) like this for small-scale entrepreneurs back home.
