Single-Stair Sickos might like to learn that a lot of European cities used to produce detailed books on their built environment, including complete floor plans. Here's a snippet from Hamburg und Seine Bauten (1914)

If you are an archeologist with sinister intent is your RESPONSIBILITY to rush to Washington D.C. and start digging around — you need to discover some sort of dangerous, bloodthirsty ancient cryptid, up to and including a primordial life spirit the discovery of which triggers some sort of cataclysm

People say bad things about nepotism, but I kinda get it. Children get a lot of unteachable skills from their parents that allow them to exceed in the same field. For instance: I've become really good at drinking 4-7 beers and complaining about the inferior quality of modern consumer appliances.

Trump learned an important lesson here. Nothing will make multi-millionaire, privileged Democratic congresspeople (and their most vocal donors) cave faster than messing with air travel before a holiday. He arbitrarily cut flights, and Dems immediately folded. What a bunch of country club pansies.

Minnesota Appellate Court Watch: a quiet week on the docket overall, but punctuated by one of the loudest cases I've seen in a while. A reversal of the denial of an Order for Protection that is as searing as our appellate courts ever get. CW: domestic abuse, sexual extortion, housing instability

I found a bunch of cool photos from the Hennepin County Library (Whittier Alliance Records collection) of the old Sheffield Elevator Company grain elevator. It stood between Harriet and Garfield Avenues along the 29th Street railroad (Midtown Greenway), now occupied by the Soo Line Garden.

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!
