hallelujah! because not only has the idea of cycling as exercise only been part of delaying good bike infrastructure in the US, it is also the culprit behind generations of US bikes either designed for sport use or made to look like that, resulting in uncomfy bikes no one wanted to just ride around

I've had a lot of imposter syndrome over this. I bike more than the average person, but I don't look that way (thin, fit, etc) so I would feel embarrassed to say that I'm a bike commuter. I think this mindset is changing as more folks, like myself, use bikes as transportation, rather than exercise
