If you are wealthy, I think you should spend more money on clothes. There's no pride in buying clothes for the lowest possible price, as this puts downward pressure on garment worker wages and increases the likelihood of exploitation.

Pete Hegseth proudly announced that flu vaccines were no longer required for the military. Predictably, a flu outbreak has descended upon the Air Forceās boot camp. Flu vaccines are again required for all new recruits.

I've made the mistake of listening to a lot of Peter Thiel interviews recently to try to understand his worldview. The guy is an absolute third-rate thinker who contradicts himself every 30 seconds and nobody pushes him on it.

Been watching UK press through this and the headlines i've seen have been (paraphrasing) "Don't worry about the heat here's how to have fun in it" and "we asked a bunch of celebrities what their heatwave outfits are" and PEOPLE ARE LITERALLY DYING. This is how the media pushes climate denial.

Do not speak to me of "barriers to entry". Every act of creation is slicing out a thin sliver of light from the existential darkness of the human condition. You not being able to pick up a fucking pencil and risk failing does not even register.

I will not accept an argument that art and creativity have been uniquely democratised in the last few years since the invention of genAI. What a disservice to human history. How little regard you must have for the billions of souls that struggled through unimaginable suffering to express themselves.
