Flying airplanes on corn & soybean oil is harmful to food security, nature, & the climate. But jet fuel made from the most abundant US crop residue, corn stover, could avoid food/land competition. Stover could only get us so far (to the 2030 SAF target, NOT 2050) & costs are high. But worth a look.
