A beautiful day in Edinburgh (one advantage of staying in a hotel a mile away from the conference venue is being able to walk through & see a bit of the city along the way).

Great to see Michael Dickson, (who was a fellow grad student with me in phil phys at Notre Dame long ago) give a nice talk on measurement in psychiatry. I particularly liked his point "How we measure determines how we treat, and how we conceptualize 'success" #philsci #philmed

Went to visit one pf my favorite philosopher-scientists. (Unlike all the statues in Boston right now, the tartan army had not placed an orange traffic cone upon his head).

Seconded! If you hear the word "overdue" used for an earthquake, volcano, etc., you're almost certainly NOT talking to a geoscientist. In fact, if you say "overdue" too loudly, a geologist will pop out of the nearest trash can like Oscar The Grouch to tell you all about why we don't use that word.
