HEYOOO IT'S 245AM AND WE'RE BACK OUT HERE! Getting a full milky way panorama, about half the sky, then going back to sleep at the rest stop, back up for blue hour around 5:15am to get the foreground, then headed home. No further edits till I get home.

politics is about storytelling, and there's just a very different valence between "I am visibly going to do everything possible to get us to the promised land" and "I will pick one reasonable little project, don't get your hopes up too much for more, big stuff will have to wait"

I think there's actually a useful difference we can draw here. Namely: there is incrementalism that comes from pushing wherever possible (and with whatever levels possible) to make progress toward a maximalist demand, versus incrementalism that's positioned as an excuse for setting minor goals
