Jeremiah Burke from Cork, Ireland, was given a holy water bottle by his mother as he boarded the Titanic. As the ship was sinking, he wrote a note which read “From Titanic, goodbye all, Burke of Glanmire, Cork” placed it into the bottle and threw it overboard. It washed ashore a year later.
