this is your mission. roll up to this daycare in full tactical gear to harass some kids and teachers. when you get spooked by your own shadow like a panicked horse and start shooting your gun, our pedophile president will call the person you shot a terrorist. good luck soldier

The clock started ticking on the need to rethink every aspect of the Canada-US relationship the moment Trump was re-elected 14 months ago. It is beyond discouraging that Canadian officials — at this late date — are still being implored to actually face reality.

Dramatic policy U-turns put Canada far behind in the global EV race
Canada’s rapidly accelerating EV adoption crashed and burned in 2025 while the world raced ahead. From Norway to Vietnam to Ethiopia, a diverse and growing mix of nations is leaving us in their dust.

Allow me to connect some dots for you: Too much of the world currently relies for its basic functions on resources which must be continuously extracted. You burn that oil one time and oops, now you need more. Geopolitical horrors are, in fact, one of the reasons we need to move to renewables ASAP.

People don’t love all these giant data centers being built, so my wife and I are offering an alternative: a good ol’ fashioned mom-and-pop data store. Small, cozy, a place where we know you by name and offer you a donut and coffee while you check the data of your financial crimes.

It is great news but wow, seeing this presented in another QT as if it's somehow a reason we can stop pushing back on fossil fuels (depicted weirdly as "global-scale hair-shirtism") is such a stunningly good indicator of where things have shifted from the days when people understood this problem

it's a mistake to compare the cost of your newsletter or podcast to a cup of coffee. that cup of coffee is the best treat i'm allowed to have every single day. no podcast is comparable to the beverage that justifies staying alive. instead market your newsletter as two thirds of a sweetgreen salad

You've often seen charts showing how the IEA's scenarios underestimate renewable energy - but they also tend *not* to overestimate fossil fuels. Eg: gas consumption is higher than the IEA's 'current policies' scenario from 2015 (and every other scenario they published)

Mr. Kinew's strategy is pure genius: jack up fossil fuel use by building methane-powered power plants & subsidizing gas guzzlers with gas-tax cuts. The benefit? We melt Arctic ice quicker to open up shipping lanes for exporting MORE fossil fuels from Churchill. Every little bit counts.
