I did not know this was something people take seriously early in my career, so there is a self-reflection floating around the archives of a major international broadcaster with my name on it that answers āwhere do you see yourself in 10 yearsā with āin a French castle where the moat has a dolphinā.

It makes sense that the app that helps you get therapy would share a logo with the app that makes you need therapy. That's just good branding.

In 1999, I was playing a decker in Shadowrun, and tried to distract a guard by hacking a water fountain to overflow, and my GM said "why would a water fountain be on the network? That's fucking stupid. No you can't try." Well it's 2026 and I just want you to know, Phil, that I FUCKING CALLED IT!

Certain dudes are still upset with me when I said in 2012 that here in the US, being a straight white male is living on the lowest difficulty setting of life. From here on out I'm just going to refer them to these DOGE staffer depositions, and then tell them to go fuck themselves.

Vibe coding broke people's brains because they had a bad understanding of the software design process. The pop culture model goes something like this: start out with a sketch and then render that same idea in progressively finer detail. So when tools could "skip" to high detail, people went WOW.
