The semester is officially over! It’s time to kick back and relax!* *I went to a coffee shop this morning to grade and write, and the thing I ended up writing was a nine-page to-do list.

Aaaaand it’s done. We ate doughnuts, we unpacked the best and hardest parts of their first year, and I managed to only choke up one time at the very end as we read “Wild Geese” together. Onto new things—onto a job that is truly a dream come true. But I sure am going to miss this place, these kids.

Last day of classes tomorrow, which means I've just placed an enormous doughnut order for early morning pickup. And... last day ever at the university I've called home for 6.5 years, which means I am extremely emotional about said doughnut order. Sad day! Joyful day. But mostly: very strange day.

Just stumbled upon this thoughtful, generous response to "The Last God of Talam Dor," which I'd somehow missed despite my usual avid reading of ARB. To be read so carefully—to have THIS story read so carefully—is an astounding gift. I think this is my favorite moment of my writing life thus far.
