Relistened to All Hail West Texas because I was feeling a bit homesick despite it all. I used to listen to this whenever I drove down I-20 going from New Orleans to Dallas, seeing nothing but trees and rolling fields for hours. I don't know if another album captures the beautiful loneliness of Texas

imo a fair conclusion to draw about dem leadership's obstinance in the face of revolt from their voters is that they'd rather win an intra-party fight with their left wing & their own voters than maximize potential electoral gains in the midterms

I think Thenardier is one of my favourite parts of Les Miserables. In a book centred aroundthe social injustices created by poverty it's so good to have a character whose suffering just makes them *worse*, who never learns anything, and who gets away with it completely

I used to write Father’s Day cards to my dad praising him for traits he didn’t have, hoping it would nudge him into being who I actually needed him to be. Anyway, that’s what Newsom, Ezra Klein, and other conservative-leaning Democrats remind me of in how they’re reacting to Charlie Kirk’s death.
