Going to take another hiatus from BlueSky, I think. Have been suffering with rather severe depression for most of the year, and while spitting out words here is a little easier than keeping up more personal contact with folk, it's still something I find I'm lacking the spoons for at the moment.

This was the only Playstation controller I ever used right up to getting a PS2. And I still think it's better than the Dualshock or Dual Analogue controllers for anything that doesn't use analogue.

Not sure I know enough ppl to fill 12 but sounds fun. Generally don’t play PC games but most consoles and handhelds are viable as long as I can afford the games or play via other means. E.g. Mega Drive, Dreamcast, Saturn, ps1-4, Xbox 360, wii, wii u, snes, gb-gba, ds/3ds, psp, vita.

Started up the Switch to see if something else was on sale, but remembered I hadn't bought this one yet. Game rules! <3 No Normal Mode clear yet (I really suck at these sorts of shooters), but have been up to the final boss, and pretty close. Will get it with another run or two~

I can only really tolerate Gen AI in my Street Fighter games. And even then, I'd really prefer to face off against a human-controlled Gen instead.

Last boss starts rambling about becoming a god and all that stuff, and I figure he's going to turn into some kind of monster angel last boss form. But instead his sprite just doubled in size. I'm losing my shit. When you target him he's just called "Big Isaac" as well. Incredible.

Sure, this looks fun. Everything I've beaten this year including replays. I think everything C and up I enjoyed to varying degrees, with a few slightly guiltier pleasures (Dirge of Cerberus) in D. A couple of lower ratings (Fatal Fury, Oni, ESWAT) are down to the specific versions I played.

Update: the game lost. That was... decidedly not very good. I have played worse RPGs, but very much do not recommend. Still, only Binary Domain to go on this year's backlog list now!

Done. The heroine has a skill that makes an entire rank invisible, causing enemy attacks to fail a good 3/4 of the time. So he was easier than the hordes of enemies you fought to get to him, who both hit harder and got more chances per round at hitting that 25% chance. This is not a well made RPG.

Noticed literally everything was outpacing me in combat in Shining Hearts no matter how high I pumped the speed stats for my healers. Finally realised that actions play out in a fixed order based on characters' positions in the party, and my whole party was waiting for my main character to act.

While this has not been a very good game, Melty the ice cream loving witch and her familiar Sorbet will stick in my memory for a while, I suspect. Look at that little gremlin.

Robot enemy force called the Checkmate Force with foot soldiers called pawns who use an attack called "check laser". And they're led by an android girl called White Queen. This is a very silly game.

In 2025 I have been able to buy many video game and also donate a decent amount of money to multiple friends in moments of need and I consider that a very successful year.

Any system is good, except: I can't play Wii or Wii U, Switch 2, PS3 4 5. Otherwise, challenge me!

What do these have in common? Same writer Really enjoying Chaos Rings’ story and thinking I wish there was more awareness, discussion and resources about scenario/story writers like for composers/directors. I’m very guilty of this despite the fact story is such a huge part of why I play games🧵1/7

The only pivoting to video I'm interested in is when I take a break from playing Van Helsing the hit game of the movie on my PS2 and pop in a DVD of Van Helsing the hit movie that inspired the game.

The Ooze is mean and will rough you up at first but eventually you will reach a slimy Zen like state where you start bobbing your head to music and going through levels with confidence and knowledge of what's coming

You can see it at 44:20. It's not quite the first frame after loading, and you have time to react if you know it's coming. But you're pretty much guaranteed to get fucked over by that rocket launcher on your first go.

Luminicity, a late game level, starts with a skeleton firing a rocket launcher at you as soon as the level loads. And while the level is one of the easier ones and you can clear it without dying no problem with practice, I think that just sums up the Skeleton Warriors experience so beautifully.

The AI angle adds an extra layer of shit to the proceedings, but this is revolting even without the fake image. If you don't see how utterly, fundamentally evil fabricating fake memories for a loved one with dementia is, I honestly question your basic humanity.
