My second favorite found marginalia was in a used copy of Charles Brocken Brown’s Wieland. The book was marked up on only one page, and it said in loopy handwriting, “Stacey is constipated.”

Having read the article, it's clear this is less "AI" and more a continuing extension of current automation already existing in fly-by-wire cockpits. But that just brings to mind the specter of the Boeing MAX, where its automation was sloppy and lazy because corporations don't give a shit.

I put in eight years at Twitter and did what I could. But it became clear that the new algorithm throttled what reach I once had. Realized staying there was just giving cover to a right-wing project. So I left. If you think "we" need to stay there or "we" can make a difference, you're delusional.

really can’t be overstated how much Polis was out on a limb with the Peters thing there are definitely issues on which “the Democrats” suck but on the topic of Tina Peters it was “Jared Polis sucks” the entire state party is furious, you don’t censure your own governor lightly

As Karl notes, the rage against AI is a rage against capitalism and the oligarch extraction class using it bluntly and proudly to consolidate even more wealth. The goal is not new, but the overreach is, and I hope it radicalizes a generation against the entire corrupt system that's eating us alive.

I say without hyperbole that this is the most brazenly corrupt action in US Presidential history. That it does not immediately lead to impeachment is a dangerous sign of how far the rule of law has declined.
