I know, I'm sorry, but trying to smear a Jewish person as antisemitic because she made a comic mocking you and your fav economic theory (mildly, at that) using an obvious joke a person in a minority would make about a famous stereotype is frankly one of the vilest things I've seen on this site.

Well, this article is incredibly depressing for cooking enthusiasts. The short version: private equity has, over the last couple of decades, quietly bought up most of the classic brands youāve heard of and then traded on their names while drastically cutting quality and closing American factories

The election where the Dems really kicked ass -- Obama in 2008 -- was the most left-wing presidential campaign since McGovern. If he had governed as he campaigned we would not be having half of these problems right now.

Woke 1.0/liberal identity politics are a road to nowhere. Not only does it put style over substance (youāre fine with genocide if a woman is doing it?) but it leaves you open to the most obvious attacks and accusations of hypocrisy (you support a white person over a POC/Muslim?)

I struggle with the idea of the culpability of voters, especially because I do genuinely believe few people were "tricked" into voting for Trump. At the same time, though, I also believe that the idea that voters are to blame and those in power "tried their best" is anti-democratic.

A lot of people donāt realize the dust bowl wasnāt a natural phenomenon. It happened when agrobusiness interests dramatically transformed the plains without regard for drought, and created vicious dust storms that choked whole families to death. Thatās what I think of when I read about data centers.

Saw The Odyssey and it's both funny and sad how too-online right-wing chuds have driven themselves so bonkers they can't just watch a movie that says nothing at all about contemporary politics. The people they're mad about were on screen for like 10 minutes total and were all perfectly cast.

I think a major difference in opinion I have with people on here, and one that's made me be uglier to them than maybe I should (especially with certain lawyer brains here), is I do believe political principles, whether liberalism or socialism, should be simply tools and not ends in of themselves.

I can't help but personally resent that the Harry Potter franchise is so toxic because I did want to write a HP story set in the United States where demons is a direct allegory for gun control with the US being seen as weird because laws regulating demon summoning are really loose.

I also saw BACKROOMS last night. I really did enjoy it; if you liked Kane Parsons' "Backrooms" series on YouTube, you'd like the movie too. While he did have more elaborate character backstories and themes, as one would expect, I especially liked that he avoided "Hollywoodifying" the concept.
