No ballistic evidence. No one hit. No injuries. No damage from gunfire. Local cops can’t find a “crime scene.” DHS claims shots were fired. I don’t believe them.

Easily several hundred people have packed into this plaza in Chicago's North Center tonight in response to ICE abducting a daycare worker early this morning. This is a neighborhood that has largely been spared until now from the "Midway Blitz" terror campaign. But everyone knows someone affected.

DHS wants to argue that anyone who returns to document or protest must not "really" be in fear for their life/person at the hands of the feds. One might ask the same questions of them and their agents who claim to be afraid of Chicagoans daily, yet continue to show up for work.

Today, Idaho is the reddest state in the union. The current GOP governor, Brad Little, is considered way too liberal for the right wing of the party despite being pro-life, pro-business, pro-Trump. The Dems haven't won a statewide office in years. You cannot appease your way to victory.

I know we're not supposed to doomsay, but if you're more focused on strategizing for hypothetical free and fair elections than you are on fighting an administration that's abducting people off the street RIGHT NOW, you are... not helping to secure a future with free and fair elections. For starters.

Anyway, part of what fascism does is smash paradigms. Lib democracy. Left critiques that can see continuities but not new symptoms, which is fundamental. Insisting on explanatory force of broken paradigms is a sophisticated way of saying “it can’t happen here.” Time for empiricism: it has, it is.
