if there's one thing to take away from the nyc election it is that you should never commit to an idea unless it is sufficiently tested to be popular or...even if it does seem popular...you should probably wait...just to see. because it's important to have the data bc you don't wanna go out on a limb

so @matteowong.bsky.social & I wrote on data centers: arguably the most important buildings in the world & are, in a way, holding the economy hostage. Byzantine financial instruments, private equity, depreciating tech, hype, $trillion valuations. it’s all there. an ai crash prob starts here.

i guess whatever ends up happening i very much appreciate the way that so much of what comes out of this campaign offers a positive depiction of what politics can offer to a community instead of just grim attack stuff and fear
