I just voted AGAINST funding for ICE. Not one dollar for cruelty and cover-ups. Congress must leverage the power of the purse to hold Donald Trump accountable.

Congress passed the Taft-Hartley Act in 1947 (over Truman's veto) to make general strikes so incredibly difficult to organize that there hasn't been one since. That there is a general strike happening in a major US city on such short notice is nothing short of a miracle.

1. A lot of things are going to go wrong. 2. A lot of things are going wrong. Including many we don't know about yet. 3. Trump has been lucky so far that so few highly visible things have gone obviously wrong, and that's going to change, perhaps with something like this week's storm.

ICE is detaining preschoolers. They’re breaking windows, stealing people out of their homes, forcing a U.S. citizen to walk in his underwear in freezing temperatures to a detention facility. This isn’t the way it has to be if Congress actually exerts its muscle and says no to more ICE funding.

This family did every single thing they’ve been asked to in order to seek asylum here. Yet in less than 24 hours, this kid and his Dad were nabbed off our streets and sent to Texas, using tactics that can only be described as pure evil.

Where is our humanity? Where have our shared values of gone? How can we justify using a little boy in a bunny hat and Spider Man backpack as bait? You may have voted for the President under the guise that he was only going after thugs and criminals. He lied to you.

The Senate is on recess this whole week. The Senators could all be in Minneapolis right now, riding with ICE patrols, speaking out about what's happening, and standing up for what's right. That they are not is a choice.

The elites and institutions have folded but regular people haven’t

still feels like folks outside of MN are kind of not getting it: our state has been under attack for over a month, and the resistance is being organized by literally your regular old neighbors and coworkers and friends.
