Judge Ellis becomes yet another judge to note that the Trump admin's claims about what is happening in response to immigration enforcement simply do not hold up when caught on tape.

Judge Ellis is on the bench this morning about to rule in the case about DHS's use of force in Chicago. Things are not going well for DHS — she just accused Gregory Bovino of lying under oath about his use of force.

More recently, Bovino’s role in encouraging the use of violence against Chicagoans expressing their right to protest “was captured in a video in which he is seen throwing a tear gas canister into a crowd, despite a judge having previously prohibited its use to quell protests,” El PAÍS reported.

Bovino “described the force his team has used in Chicago—where someone was shot and killed, a pastor got hit w/pepper balls from high above and the sound of windshields broken by immigration agents looking to snatch someone from their cars is now part of the Windy City’s soundtrack—as ‘exemplary’” 👇🏽

People shit on the ACA for its shortcomings but it was a monumental achievement dragged across the line with tons of moderate and even conservative Dems required support.

When many other Democratic leaders in Congress were cravenly supporting the run-up to the Iraq War, Nancy Pelosi opposed it and whipped votes in the House against it. She has many other career accomplishments but that brave and prescient stand is what I'll remember.
