One of the most disappointing parts of Jon Stewart’s recent “joke” on masks is that ME and Long COVID advocates been calling on him to expose “the greatest medical scandal of the 21st century” on his show. Instead he chose to ignore the topic and punch down.

Since I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, about four years ago, a simple illness makes me sick for weeks and sometimes longer. I do my very best now to avoid being exposed to illness. When I go to a busy store or other indoor places, I always wear a mask. I get harassed regularly.

We need those who claim to be “left” to stop punching down on the disabled, covid cautious and immune compromised. Masking is resistance. It’s community care. The ruling class wants you sick and weak so you won’t fight back. Healthcare is being gutted. There’s never been a better time to mask

it is MIRACULOUS that we got rid of lead paint and asbestos when we did. if we had tried that today, there would be people whining about how we're restricting their rights.

Not knowing about PEM is proof positive you don't know IACCs. Even if you're not studying #MECFS, omitting the possibility of PEM in a trial for #LongCOVID (where many meet criteria for #MECFS) or for common comorbidities, like fibro, hypermobility disorders like #EDS, or #POTS is in error.

This is not specific PT/OT, it's telling the person to walk more steps tomorrow than today, as if it's something that would not have occurred to the patient without help. It's astonishing hubris. And it is harmful, especially when it comes with the adjuration to ignore resultant symptoms.

...of the presumption that gradually increasing exercise is a rehabilitative for people with infection-associated chronic conditions like #MECFS and #LongCOVID. The idea of graded exercise as a special therapy your doctor has to help you carry out is absurd.

Just a note to say: if you hear anything about #MECFS or #PEM and related on radio or TV, let me know and I’ll do my best to record it. I missed the Celebrity Catchphrase clip and don’t want to miss any more. And if you have any old clips on VHS, I’ll try and get them digitised.
