Doh I know what’s up! My son has a cold (just heard him cough upstairs so I realized). I have an MCAS flare whenever I’m exposed to someone with a cold. I don’t get the cold symptoms I just start having mast cell reactions to every little thing. (The only thing I’ve actually “caught” was Covid). Boo

mast cells aren’t happy and I’m worried it’s the tollovid bc I’m feeling generally more reactive. But could be tums (it has corn. But heartburn! I already take epic amounts of famotidine). Woke up sweaty at 2:30am w/ heartburn. Took tums. Heartburn is better but ITCHFEST. It’s probably the tums

Got a #poetry rejection today (not for the one from the other day). I tend not to be too disappointed lately, meaning the last couple rejections spread over a looooong time period bc I do not submit often. I think being an editor who has to select and reject helps. It was also a very kind note!

Was gonna pack up expired EpiPens for medication take back but then thought I should check my current EpiPens and realized those are expired too. So. Requested a new rx from my dr. Will keep the recently expired ones bc I figure 1 month expired epinephrine is better than no epinephrine in a crisis?

I really wanna bake Christmas cookies. Like, put on Christmas music really loud, sing along, dance in the kitchen, make a giant mess baking up a variety of cookies with my kids. Spouse and I joke about going to Paris or somewhere fancy and foreign if I recover but really… I want the little things.

Teen is trying two new pies for Christmas — a chocolate chess pie (I can at least taste this one) and a pecan pie (that I certainly cannot eat - pecans and corn syrup, yikes lol). We convinced her to save the third new pie (cranberry citrus) for NYE. #Pie

I ate two gluten free blueberry muffins (teen baked me a batch and froze them for me last week) and had a glass of chocolate milk. Feeling better.

Every day at about 3pm I get the most unhinged carb cravings. Like please give me a whole fresh loaf of bread. Hot soft pretzels. Calzone. If I do not eat—specifically carbs and a lot of them—I feel like garbage. (I know I’ve brought this up before. It went away. I stopped Ozempic and it’s back)

One of my least favorite symptoms but thankfully not super regular for me — randomly choking on my own spit. Usually in my sleep or just as I’m falling asleep. I know it’s a connective tissue/CCI thing. What I don’t know is if there’s anything I can do about it. Anyway. My throat is raw.
