The fact that parts of the industry are reporting record profits while so many developers feel exhausted, uncertain, and disposable only makes the disconnect feel even greater.

In my 40+ years making games, this has felt like the hardest period to navigate for game devs. It’s difficult to find or hold onto work, difficult to secure funding, and difficult to break through and find an audience. Incredibly talented people are struggling.
