I can't understand the mindset of wanting to do this unless the *goal* was to desecrate it. It's a grave for 1,177 U.S. sailors who died in nightmarish ways from the exploding magazine and the sinking inferno that followed. It's hallowed ground to everyone except Trump and his lackeys.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court allows Alabama to use its 2023 congressional map, which lower courts previously blocked for violating Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, in the 2026 midterms. The ruling comes after the Court gutted the landmark law in Louisiana v. Callais.

One reason Republicans are banning books and classes on race is because reading even one book about Jim Crow or Reconstruction makes it clear that they are hoping to reinstate segregation.

They spent at least $50 BILLION over 2 months to bomb people in Iran. I don't want to hear a single thing about what can and cannot be funded in this country. Ever. The End.

I'm a prison librarian and our book club class is covering Legendborn by Tracy Deonn. Today one of my students said that his daughter is also getting a copy so they can have their own mini book club over the phone, and I just 🥹. Books are such a powerful tool for fostering connection. 📚📜

The fact that nobody seriously believes there is an institution in this country that will check the president—that we’re all just sitting here hoping that he gets distracted and fails to follow through on his genocidal threats—is the most damning indictment of our political system I’ve seen yet.

Scheduling social media posts for the week for work while the President uses his social media posts to threaten genocide against Iranians. Being a human is really fucking weird sometimes (all the time).

Today in 1977 began the 504 sit-ins by disabled people. The protest was the longest occupation of a federal building and a reminder that our human rights and access protections were not gifts from the ableds, but fought for by us, and in this instance with a big assist from the Black Panther party.

Something I haven’t seen mentioned is that more than TSA work at airports! Janitors, food service, retail, etc. I have no faith that security clearance to work at an airport will keep those people safe from ICE, especially brown and Black people with accents.

There needs to be like 5 "too nice to work" holidays controlled by each state. Like a snow day, you don't get any advance notice. The stations and alerts just put out the message that the next day is too nice to work and everyone is off.
