Wonderful post to help us think about how we narrate histories of technology. Technically the cell phone was invented in 1973 but I doubt this is the meaning here, they didn’t become ubiquitous until the 90s or early 00s depending on where you lived so most adults were born before that.

I hate "raising awareness" as a communications strategy because most campaigns stop at that. You have to include action. So now that I know, what do you need me to do and what are you doing? If you stop at "hey this is a problem", that's pointless.

We do not need panel discussions about the "dismantling of Black Studies." Cross the street and ask the local church if you can run a Black Studies Saturday school in their basement for interested community members.
