Do folks have favorite examples storytelling in academic writing? I'm considering asking students to use their research to tell a story as an exercise and would love some models.

As someone who probably shares more of the qualities below than I'd love to admit, I think this puts it well: the process of friction in the classroom dynamic - responding, thinking through what students have to say on your feet, developing your own thinking about a topic in the process - is key...

My grandparents often talked about how good it felt to hear ppl speak sharp political truths. Their politics were shaped during the McCarthy era, when such speech was dangerous. It's easy to feel cynical about these moments (Ramirez will not stop DHS w/ her words), but I believe they do matter.

I can tell you exactly when the media narrative changed: It was January 29, the day Chuck Schumer told everyone to pipe down because Democrats had agreed on demands they'd hold DHS to in return for funding.

It is VERY important to get your electeds to publish state "abolish" as it moves the needle of what will be a midterm platform point. If you want Dems to abolish when they have legislative levers, it has to be publicly acceptable discourse RIGHT NOW.
