REMINDER not only do I do free virtual author visits for any school or library BUT -if you DO have a guest budget you'd rather spend elsewhere I'll charge what you tell me to and donate it where it needs to go -if there's a topic you aren't allowed to talk about I'LL bring it up and take the blame

there are four teams (bills, ravens, lions, vikings) who are really good, really entertaining, have very compelling narratives, and would be exceptionally satisfying to see as super bowl champs. if the chiefs threepeat it will be more annoying and loathsome than anything the patriots ever did

The Greeks absolutely had it right when they included a chorus in their plays. They knew audiences are dumbasses who need to be told “THIS MAN IS BAD. HE IS HERE AS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT *NOT* TO DO. WOE TO THE BUMPTIOUS FOOL WHO WOULD IDOLIZE HIM. YOU ARE NOT, NOR DO YOU WANT TO BE, ALEX DELARGE”

I love the Charlie Brown Christmas special. There's an eerie loneliness that hangs over the whole thing. The music, Charlie Brown's depression, the dying little tree, the flatness of the children's voices, the inevitability of death. A Christmas masterpiece.

Back when I was a bartender, Thanksgiving night & Xmas night were two of my busiest shifts of the year. People who'd spent all day with family needed to get out & blow off steam. So it's okay to be kind to yourself this holiday and take breaks from anyone who exhausts you, mentally or emotionally 💕
