i am so tired of screaming from the rooftops that we have a looming, avoidable crisis of evictions brewing. everyone knows it, but yet government and philanthropy have no solutions. unpaid volunteers of rent funds are doing the work that the people who control the purse strings refuse to do

donations to rent funds have dropped dramatically from last month and the needs are greater, as some families are now 2-3 months behind. working on this feels like trying to bail water from the titanic with buckets. but we just keep doing it.

I know there is a lot, but this really does break a part of me. It is so lawless on so many levels — and each individual boat strike is a choice.

I've mentioned that my husband's grandparents all left Germany in 1933. Yesterday I learned that a great-grandfather was badly beaten by the Gestapo in 1937 & died of a brain hemorrhage. And I just keep thinking that if ICE doesn't like the Gestapo comparisons they shouldn't act like the Gestapo.
