I am so furious right now. AGs across the country fought to get SNAP benefits. Federal workers suffered with weeks of no pay. Millions of people showed up to protest Trump. Democrats showed up in record numbers at the polls to say 'we've got your back!' And you caved for literally nothing.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard. We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions. We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

So did they get the promise from…the House? Like the other body that needs to vote to extend ACA subsidies? Like what the fuuuuuuck is happening?!

Anyway a great way to radicalize people is for them to realize that you just abandoned their chance at being able to access and afford health care because you didn’t like waiting in line at the airport.

We’re not going to “fix the Democrats’ brand” by doing TikToks or launching pods. The brand is a direct reflection of our elected officials. If we want to purge our weak branding, we have to purge the weak Dems. I’m looking forward to a robust primary cycle and new Democrats who know how to fight.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person. The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person. People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives. And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

UPDATE: Donald Trump is so hellbent on denying people SNAP that he went all the way to the Supreme Court to block benefits. Now Trump is trying to bully states into TAKING BACK payments they already made to families. It’s chaos for the sake of cruelty.
