I am trying my best to observe ICE on my own. If anyone has a rapid response network they are comfortable including me in, I am happy to agree to observe off record and to discuss exactly what that means beforehand.

I don't know about Will but I was told there is a blanket no press policy in the networks I was in even though they specifically said they appreciated how I covered this stuff with care towards anonymity.

They are doing similar things with reporters here in New York. It's a shame as it eliminates a resources we might have to observe ICE and the activists. I think recent weeks have shown the clear need for high visibility.

The revolution will be Temufied

The TikTok marketing ecosystem that's arisen around protest is really interesting to me; as I commented the other day, the revolution will be monetized.

I have been seeing a lot of Tiktok ads marketing tactical gloves as though they are brass knuckles. Some seem to aim for a crowd that wants to fight ICE. This one said, "I'm not telling you to go fight any protesters." So, yeah, that's where we are now as a country. Civil unrest entrepreneurs.

They are almost certainly going to try and change Tiktok like what we saw with Twitter and Facebook. I still think these kinds of conversations will persist. The genie won't go back in the bottle.

Trump won't be satisfied as long as his numbers are in the tank. Based on his speech last week, he's aware they're bad - but he also thinks doubling down on racism and attacking immigrants is the way to fix it.
