This is a great all around explanation of why we need this tool. Our local reps have been working on this legislation at the MN legislature the past few sessions.

I love how, under our current government, you can never be totally sure if an announcement is an accurate statement of what the government is doing, a statement cooked up by some 24-year old edgelord, or raw ChatGPT output.

The quick resegregation of higher education is particularly pronounced. In 1951, in the case of McKissick v Carmichael, the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals compelled the UNC Chapel Hill School of Law to admit 4 black students. In 2025, they admitted 5.

Nearly a month after McConnell dropped, assuming neutral environmental conditions, I'd expect most of the sarcophagids and calliphorids to have departed and we'd mostly be dealing with piophilids and the first dermestids.

I want to point out that "migrants" in the headline is doing the rhetorical work of making human beings into something else. And to reiterate that using "migrant" instead of "immigrant" makes it so the migrating person never lands. (This is not a critique of OP)

A city that has leading ped intervals and 2 way bikeways should NOT allow right turn on red for drivers. RTOR decreases the safety benefits of the ped interval and 2 way bikeways bc IME drivers *cannot* be trusted to look for bikes & peds when theyâre checking for car traffic to turn.

Got lunch with an old friend who teaches math out East. He runs the correlation every year between homework scores (take home) and test scores (in-person). This year, the correlation went negative -- the better you did on homework, the worse you did on the tests.

People turning right out of parking lots (and right on red, too!) frequently only look left and can miss pedestrians coming from the right. This morning I was entering into sidewalk where a there was a parking lot exit and a driver looked to their left, saw me and my dog and continued at full speed.

By my nonscientific count, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo is at least the 30th person immigration agents have directly killed or participated in the death of since Trump retook the White House. That's on top of the at least 59 people who have died in Trump's concentration camps since then.

Posted a mild disagreement to someone's post, not expecting a response. Instead, the user responded that they didn't care that I disagreed (fine, but why did you respond?), then started a multi post thread about how they don't care when people disagree with them. Social media is hard.

The speed sensor for Tern GSDs is a magnet on the rear disc rotor that induces a charge in a nearby coil. How do I know? Because somehow a little magnet got stuck to my brake rotor and then my speed was reading 2-3X faster than I was traveling.
