The thing that is most sad about this to me: if someone was trying out the bus for the first time on this special transit day they may have a crappy experience & may not try again. There were buses on Nicollet for my morning commute, I hope it’ll be the same this afternoon

Sure do wish passenger rail had anywhere near the political/cultural cache of firearms for Americans seeing as trains literally made America possible.

Successful transit networks + transit adoption are made or broken by how positive or negative the user experience is. That UX includes how people get to & from the transit stops. Inaction in the face of an open drug market for months followed by completely blocking it off is not a solution.

I plan on going to the DFL booth at the Fair next week and politely but firmly expressing my disappointment. You should too - and then be sure to get the word out about progressive candidates!

This has killed any desire to ever donate to the DFL for so many young people. It's like they've forgotten that the difference between ending up with a Mark Dayton or a Scott Walker was ~1500 votes. They are betting the farm to protect an incumbent who had no path to securing the endorsement.

Safe streets that work for everyone should not be a partisan issue. Our federal highway system is collapsing under the cost of its own maintenance. The idea that there have been massive investments in bike lanes is ludicrous.

Automated large dataset assessment is hard. I wonder if our energy wouldn't be better spent focusing on comparative analysis on programmatic policy implementation over time. eg: Mpls dropping speeds citywide -> actual driver speeds -> ridership increase over 5 years. #P4BCityRankings
