Every once-in-awhile we get some political candidate who's racked up a hundred traffic fines and it illustrates to me that some folks who have money and influence feel privileged enough to disregard traffic safety. Sliding-scale fines based on income might help solve that problem.

A tiny number of people say "ban cars," a lot of them are not serious or make huge caveats, & there is absolutely no prospect of it happening. Nobody truly believes that absolutely everyone can cycle. Drivers block access - directly like this & indirectly by opposing car alternatives - all the time.

We’ve had several @mcbl.bike borrowers have their entry point to e-bikes via cargo e-bikes (which I didn’t expect!). Some decide they want a cargo bike, others decide they want a smaller ebike. After trying them, virtually all decide they’re ready to buy or want to start saving to get one.

funniest one the other week were two guys i was in an elevator with. "what's the furthest you've ever ridden that thing?" "uhhhhhh well my old commute was 20 miles" and they both erupted in bewilderment. the people love ebikes!!!

It’s always fascinated me that the most engaged questions I get are from folks in vehicles with handicap stickers who park next to the bike racks at my local grocery store. For some people, the acoustic bike was never a realistic option. E-bikes change that equation (which is why I’m all in).

I've never been able to load a cart full of groceries in my e-cargo bike outside the grocery store without either positive comments or questions.

Every single time I've ridden my ebike to work, someone asks me about it. And I absolutely love the opportunity to evangelize about it.

Almost every time I park my e-bike somewhere public I get questions about it from curious people. That never happens with my other bikes. So many people are interested in what e-bikes can offer them, which makes the moral panic around them all the more infuriating.

There is a hostile system of harm that led to my son's murder. He was killed by a man, but that man was enabled and empowered by a system of toxic masculinity, toxic car worship culture, the design of suburbs, hate towards bicyclists, and more. I encourage everyone to think about these things.

So do I. I can't help it, because this is exactly the truck that hit and killed my son.
