This is a scheduled post for anyone awake at midnight ET (very likely not our co-founders) to check our submissions guidelines. Perhaps a certain Moksha link at the bottom is now active, and perhaps certain Moksha forms are now open to submissions đ

Itâs simple: catfish your bossâs wife. Suddenly, sheâs distant; he needs a confidence boost. Suggest improv classes, itâs a great way to get out of your head. Encourage him for months, then attend his first showcase. Wait until heâs onstage, then jump up and ask him for a raise. Whatâs he gonna say?

"Grifts are undertheorized, and too often conflated with long cons, scams, frauds and other more blatant soft crimes. Lemme offer a definition. A grift is a scheme that profits from the existence of a real problem without actually addressing it."

This reminds me of Cardinal John Henry Newman's book Definition of a Gentleman. I often cite Newman's book because it's so instructive. The term gentleman is so overwrought and frequently abused, but to the degree it means anything at all, I think Newman captures it here:

And another thing: I'm mad. Please put it in the newspaper that I got mad. I am not ashamed of my emotions, which I believe are a normal and human reaction to events, and I welcome a frank and open discussion of why I feel that way, and possible paths forward.

I don't deny that dogs can sometimes be quite lovely but what I will say is I don't trust their opinions. If a cat recommended me an album it had bought, I'd totally check it out. If a dog did the same, I'd promise to listen to the album, out of politeness, with no intention of actually doing so

if i've learned one thing from doing union stuff while also doing other forms of organizing, it's that you're better off with people you disagree with who are nevertheless trying to do the same thing as you than with people you agree with who aren't trying to do anything

The Washington Postâs consistent position has been âwe have no idea whatâs in the Epstein Files and thatâs fineâ (even before the 25 purges) and for the paper that brought us Deep Throat and COINTELPRO thatâs very strange and sad.
