Day 5 of #30DaysOfBiking My youngest had their pick of @mcbl.bike cargo bikes for our ride tonight (librarian perks). They opted for the Urban Arrow & we had a lovely trip.

Day 4 of #30DaysOfBiking It was lightly snowing while I took the @mcbl.bike Radioflyer Via Pro out for a quick spin around the neighborhood to check that it’s in good shape after winter hibernation. Our fleet is officially up to 15 bikes for this year! 🤯 🥰

I got to try a #LectricBikes #ETrike for a week thanks to @mcbl.bike. I didn't have a problem with it even though it was my first time on a bike in 40 years! I did get a little nervous if I took a turn too fast, thinking I would tip, and going over railroad tracks was a bit rough but it was great!

Would still love to pursue this! As the new board decides on our four year goals, I hope to make climate/VMT reduction a centerpiece. I think partnering with y'all could be a huge part of that. With cargo bike libraries at our community centers everyone would have easy access to mobility!

I really like my new @cleverhood.bsky.social Rover Anorak. The folks at Cleverhood outfitted the @mplscargobikelibrary.com with a rain jacket library last year. In Jan they reached out again to see if they could send jackets & bags to help our mutual aid work. Good people, good company. 🚲 ❤️

A kid after my own ❤️. Little does she know I founded @mplscargobikelibrary.com & have access to ALL kinds of bikes for us to try. 😆 We didn’t have time to make it happen then... but now I need to find a way to let these kids try all kinds of cargo bikes. 2/2

At school pick up today one of the neighbor kids we help walked up to my friends' Tern GSD (longtail cargo bike) & started putting her stuff on his bike. I laughed & said “That’s not our bike & I can’t fit all 4 of you in there.” She shrugged & said “I want to try this one.” 1/2

Cannot recommend the Cargo Bike Library enough!!! It was so great to be able to try out a bike for several days to see if it works for us. Even though the Bunch wasn’t quite the right fit for us, it did allow me to get my mother in a bike for the first time in 60 years, which was awesome.

I had big plans for all of the MCBL stuff I'd get done over our winter hibernation. None of that happened bc my neighbors needed me more. I'm starting to carve out more time to get the MCBL back up & running. I'm SO excited to share more about what we've got in store this year. Stay tuned!
