Do you ever find yourself thinking, “Man, I wish I could read about beer, but I’ll die if I go that long without gay ennui”? Well, I’m the Minneapolis-based beer writer for you. Am I the best beer writer? No. Am I better than the beer writers for the Strib? Yes. Am I gay? Also yes. Duh. See above.

I spent my evening advancing the cause of hard-hitting journalism by emailing everyone who won a municipal election in Minneapolis or St. Paul (25 people!) to ask them about their favorite Minnesota beer. The Strib can’t be trusted to do this. Only I can.

Guys on the right are not alright, and this article hits on a few reasons why—feeling like something was “taken” from them by feminism; over-identification with political figures (blurring the lines between self and ideology); and existential terror at the erosion of their “role” in modern society.

Look. It would be great if there was one simple trick for winning elections. But 'just be more moderate' isn't it. In fact, you can use the NYT's exact method to 'prove' a 'Progressive Advantage' of +1.4 pts. This piece shows what's really going on: funded candidates do better than unfunded ones.

As a long-term vegetarian, there are exactly two foods I miss: 1. Sushi (veg sushi is fine, but pretty limited at most places), and 2. Cold cut sandwiches. Every other food is easy to find a replacement for, or easy to make at home (and I’m happy to share my recipes).

Cars aren’t “evil,” and driving one doesn’t make you a bad person. That said, they have become an unhealthy addiction in North America and caused us to lose sight of what’s reasonable and sustainable in terms of urban design and day-to-day life. “Everything in moderation,” and that includes cars.

Mamdani standing up for transgender people living in America is a huge part of why he is dominating the mayor's race in New York City. Giving a shit about trans people, immigrants, and the unhoused is a winning strategy. I hope that reminds you of what Trump wants you to forget: People are good.
