THREAD. A while ago my parents' cat Bridget went missing. As the worrying weeks dragged on my dad devised a way to distract himself: he began to paint Bridget's adventures, imagining her travelling through time & inhabiting art's most iconic scenes. What he produced (& how quickly) was phenomenal...

I was stunned today to discover zero of my coworkers have ever heard of the Iliad or the Odyssey. Or even Achilles or the Trojan horse or anything like that. Like I don't expect them to have read them, just to have maybe seen a Looney Tune with a wooden horse or something.

At this juncture I’d like to point out: * we’re on the brink of a golden age of medical healing * there’s enough money in the world to solve every problem in the world * a united approach could stop the climate crisis But a small group of sociopaths seeking personal power are going to throw it away.

We should have been telling Trump to go fuck himself. Building homes. Fixing student loans. Fixing Brexit. Connecting migration with growth and changing the toxic narrative. Explaining slowly and carefully to flag shaggers why they should be at home reading a book. They bought this on themselves

The thing about disability is you can't predict when it will affect you or people you love. As we age we become increasingly likely to become a member of the 1 in 5 UK adults who has some form of disability. The odds *are* against you. Punching down is punching yourself, your family & friends.

, stop saying that it's up to us to stop Reform. YOU could stop a Reform government in 2029, by introducing the proportional representation so many in the country have been clamouring for. The only way Farage can win is through our crazy first-past-the-post system.

A sizeable group of voters simply want an asshole as President. There is no point in trying to cater to them, you can either ignore them or discourage them from voting. Every effort to get their vote by adopting asshole-ish policies is a waste, they want the real thing.
