If we believe (rightly) that clean energy technologies have a ton of potential domestically, then there's little downside to O&G permitting concessions and facilitating export alongside big reforms to clean energy interconnection, T&D, and permitting. You either believe clean tech works or don't.

One big takeaway from Mamdani bringing YIMBYs into his transition is that advocates can often gain a lot of power by 1.) having useful answers to questions and accurate information 2.) being reasonably polite and pleasant to elected officials 3.) understanding the actual mechanics of government

A few years ago, I worked for the City of

on a plan to convert a dead mall into a mixed-use center with hundreds of homes. Furious neighbors feared it would lead to overcrowded schools. Shortly afterwards, the district announced it would close schools due to falling enrollment.

When mad drivers tell you that you, a cyclist, don't belong on roads because you don't pay registration and the gas tax, show them the Road Damage Calculator. Compare, for example, the damage made by a small SUV and a longtail cargo e-bike. Very different orders of magnitude

Why are many U.S. cities building less? Why have they insisted on a "thicket" of regulations that make housing hard to build? In a new

This is a good example of how well-off senior staff at progressive nonprofits will reflexively advocate for their own class interests as suburban car owners but launder that position by sock puppeting low-income Black and brown people.
