This is out of step with your base, and isn’t a progressive stance @jayapal.house.gov We have a housing shortage because rich NIMBYs in places like Laurelhurst made developing apartments ILLEGAL in 70% of the city. This is the exact faux progressivism you hear from their community councils.

This piece really tries to make @markoliias.bsky.social ‘s position seem reasonable here. The reality is simple: Municipalities are BANNED from buying and operating ferries unless they can carry cars, or get specific permission from the legislature. Greg Nance passed a bill 87-8 removing the ban.

The pro-housing coalition within the Democratic party is going to bulldoze this laughably histatronic position into the grave of ideologies, thank god. We're gonna build so much housing that everyone can live affordably, and that means building higher, denser, and better.
