Redmond is doing the work to build homes & make it easy for people to get around without driving. It is a model for suburbs around the city on how to retrofit. I am so proud to work there and lead in the transportation space!

I'm still amazed the SJJPA asked Siemens to *not* include a cafe car on the new Gold Runner trains. Thankfully Amtrak Cascades will have a cafe car on their new Airo trains that debut later this year.

Mike McGinn, Mike O'Brien, the Sierra Club, and others took so much shit for successfully opposing the "roads and transit" measure in 2007. But they were right to do it, and it set up the successful transit-only ST2 the next year that tomorrow is finally connecting east and west with rail.

the serious answer is that we need a wholesale recommitment on the left to public higher education as a high quality low/no cost public good rather than a jobs training licensing agency. I do not anticipate this happening.
