The FT says Labour's "saviours" went for "expulsion" on "flimsiest of pretexts" a "macho instinct to break Labour taboos" that "alienated"Ā Labour's "base", inc picking Mandelson and an "overtly pro-Israel line", "leaking support on the left". Maybe they weren't saviours at all.

I for one am extremely enjoying the Press trying to explain something that the Left has been completely correct about the whole time without admitting that the Left was completely correct about it the whole time.

This isn't 4D chess, these people are venal and think you are stupid. To be honest, if you cannot see that this was an obvious quid pro quo situation wherein Mandy was given a plum job for services rendered, you are, in fact, a bit of a rube.

Entirely consistent with e.g. āthis was Peterās projectā, āSir Keir has only ever been a bonnet ornament on a car driven by McSweeney, with Peter shouting directionsā and āthis has never been explained to the publicā. As well as āPeter approved himself for the job because what he wants, he getsā.

Look at the charts: the slide starts the moment the election is called - that is, they have been cratering from the very second that the public started paying attention to what they were saying and doing.

This is simply not true. Labour didnāt have to go right. They *chose* to go right. The big majority was a chance to reset everything back to sanity. Starmer chose the mad, bigoted, ignorant and dishonest route instead.

The average person doesnāt give a fuck if AI has some niche use where it actually excels if used properly. In fact, that is what a tool is *supposed* to do and none of us will have a problem if it is used like that. What we see is AI fucking up real life in a massive way.

Well kids there used to be these things called Websites. But AI started summarising them & they earned no ad revenue so AI had nothing to summarise, and it stores no data. Now go to sleep, youāre on the dawn shift at the Algae Farm tomorrow.

Not once in the 80s, 90s or 00s do I recall a politician urging the public to embrace email, mobile phones, texting, two factor authentication, online banking, air fryers, or to replace all their cassette collection with a CD collection. So forgive me if I smell a rat.

I cannot think of any other country today which so openly commits war crimes, crimes against humanity and acts of genocide for months on end, and yet for whom the debate continuously reorients not on how it should be stopped, but rather how global audiences should be re-acclimated to its conduct.

It's not just that this is peculiarly British incompetence, it's that the self-harming policy of "Try to trip the bastards up because the sinister foreigns are all trying to steal from us" is driven by MPs who we are loudly assured are "well-meaning" & "not out of touch" but that's clearly not true.
