really dislike that "Boriswave" used to be something you'd exclusively see being used by racist Twitter accounts but it's now made its way to the political mainstream, including today's Playbook headline

I of course welcome the recognition of the state of Palestine. And there won't be a Palestinian state left if government's continue enabling Israel's unfolding genocide. Labour can't credibly support Palestinian statehood whilst also continuing to arm Israel.

I think fundamentally, the ability to care about the rights of a small and vulnerable minority (of whom you might know no members) is an important sign of whether you are committed to human rights out of principle, or out of mere convenience.

GPEW seeing a big spike in membership this month should bury all the complaints that having a strong pro-trans rights line would hurt their breadth of appeal. As if the continued successes of the SGP weren't evidence enough of that. Transphobia isn't popular or compelling on the left.

All the people who sneered at Polanski (and at the Scottish Greens) for not immediately promising to stand aside in favour of the mailing list that may never be a party might want to think about what's the most likely route to a meaningful left bloc in parliament at this point.

Next week we'll vote for rent controls in the Scottish Parliament. Not only will they help keep rents affordable during tenancies, but in rent control areas landlords wonāt be able to increase rent before a new family moves in. It's time to bring skyrocketing rents to an end.

Hey, say what you want about The Telegraph and their hard-right bent ā they sure seem to like Morgan McSweeney! In fact, they think it would be disastrous for Keir Starmer to sack him, even now! Isn't that interesting? Shall we all ponder how interesting that is together? What could it mean?
