It felt like before art communities were established in real life locations, so you’d hear things like “this band from Buffalo.” It gave you an understanding of where they came from. Now you don’t hear that often maybe because the community is online, & that feels for the worse.

I do think a core misconception in how art is critiqued and discussed is the idea that the artist brings their worldview into the piece when really it’s the process of making the piece that creates and morphs their worldview, with the cycle going on from there.
