In its endorsement the Trib mentions that "Croke led the charge in 2024 to protect Chicago’s selective-enrollment schools from threats emanating Mayor Brandon Johnson" This is a very Trib rendering of a story that I feel makes Croke not a great candidate for a statewide oversight office.
