To be clear: I don't know what the motive for the attack was. I just know Homeland Security lies a lot and is trying to spin this in a very clear direction. We need independently confirmed facts.

Homeland Security is working hard to depict the Dallas shooting as an attack on ICE rather than an attack on the detainees who were actually shot. DHS says "the shooter fired indiscriminately at the ICE building." "Indiscriminately?" How would they know that? The shooter is dead.

This whole incident is revealing a real crisis of trust in the FBI, it's hard to imagine how the FBI restores any credibility in the Trump administration, but that's what happens when you turn the entire government and related institutions into forums for loyalty tests and persecution.
