I don’t know why the simple dismissive argument against unitary executive isn’t “The pres is only the executive of the government that the legi creates. Their power is wholly circumscribed by the laws congress passes. Without the legis ability to constrain the executive there is no government.”

Once they decided “well-regulated” didn’t mean well-regulated and “militia” doesn’t mean militia, it seems like the chains of plain language fell off.

I know it’s a point so obvious it shouldn’t need making, but: the Founders made Congress Article I, not the executive branch. Congress makes the laws, the executive branch … executes them faithfully, in service to Congress. They could have started with the executive, but they didn’t.

This is exactly what the bosses who put Trump into office were trying to achieve. Crushing the tight labor market from the early Biden years that gave workers - for the first time in my adult lifetime - leverage over their bosses.

Something every 2026/28 Dem should commit to is investigations of any company that did deals with Trump. A kind of forward guidance to get companies to think twice in advance of what’s coming.
