Every single one of the astronauts who went to the moon and back on Artemis II was educated at a public school. Thinking of the teachers who poured into Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen tonight. You helped send a kid to the moon! 🌕 💛

I handle the batter walk up music for our local little league team. Every kid gets John Denver’s “Poems, Prayers, and Promises.” I’m also a fecant at my local church. I like to give back to my community.

A bald eagle flew fairly low over my head today, and the shadow it cast made me instinctively duck a little. I promise you there is no bird alive who can hoist me. Something very primal and primitive made me react. Fascinating. Some parts of our brains do still run on automatic.

No rush. Nowhere to be. Lawns sleeping for winter. Soggy leaves. A bright red hat bobbing along. In 20 years I will be the age of her mother and she will be the age of me. This plain day with a sky so gray it almost looks white will be the place she searches for. Her little boy, her dog, her mother.
