My friend's flight was ultimately canceled last night, and just after she boarded this morning, they delayed them two hours due to staffing shortages at O'Hare. My best to all you travelers out there.

Still buzzing from the fun that was this weekend. Great friends, great books, great authors. Can't wait to do it again next year.

A real thing that just happened: Found a signed @sgj.bsky.social book at BookPeople that I already own, also signed, so I left it. Decided I needed it anyway and went back to grab it. Just as I was walking up to the shelf, a lucky guy swooped in and snagged it. Happy for the guy. Sad for me. 🔪🩸📚

After a full day of books here in Austin, my friend and I are headed back to BookPeople for breakfast and more books. Because, you know...books 💙📚

One of my son's friends is slowly reading Lonesome Dove for the first time. Every time we see him, he raves about what he's read and how much he loves it. Makes my reader heart happy. 💙📚

We have an alarming number of missing cat posters going up in the neighborhood. DJ and I were discussing it on our walk, and I mentioned it has the potential to become a horror story. He went on to suggest the recycling bins may have become sentient, and I feel like he could be onto something. 🤔😂

Finished this delightfully macabre collection this morning. It's an eclectic mix of supernatural, folklore, and straight-up horror stories. Needless to say, @gemmafiles.bsky.social is a wizard at wielding words. Favorites were "Poor Butcher-Bird", "Yellowback", and "Little Horn." 🩸📚💙

I grew up with a family of medical professionals, and they would drive me crazy calling out fake things on movies and TV shows. But now I work in ophthalmology, and I get annoyed when I read books, and they get basic eye information completely wrong. And I hate that about myself 😂
