An unopened DVD of THE SURE THING, a movie I’ve never seen AND it’s directed by Rob Reiner? It’s movie time.

People keep asking if I’ve watched the final season of THE BEAR, but I guess I have since I canceled HULU after they kowtowed to Trump via his lap-dog enforcer, the FCC. Anyway, I dig how season 4 ended, and that finale works as a good conclusion for me.

The best way to survive a heat wave? Read a book that chills you to the core. I reread @paultremblay.bsky.social ‘s new book these last 3 days, and it is a masterpiece. A truly brilliant novel whose importance/prescience can not be overstated. It’s funny, clever, heartbreaking, and terrifying.

Great episode. Such an important film in my induction into horror as a kid in the 1980s. My wife references the house crumpling in on itself whenever there’s something in our house that needs fixing or when we need to clean it or when the damn TV People get up to their antics.

Side note about AI: it’s pathetic all these accomplished filmmakers and actors selling out in the name of money and laziness. Your hard work and creativity got you where you are; don’t forsake it all now because you’re old, tired, and scared of obsolescence. AI is a plague that must be stopped.

Going through DVDs and BluRays, and trying to convince my wife we need to keep them all. Analog forever!

I already read DbDoES @paultremblay.bsky.social but now I have the HC, it’s time for a reread. This one is up there with my other two favorites of his: TCatEotW and HM. (My dad died in 1992. My mom said at least he died fast, wasn’t in a vegetative state. Fitting to use his license as a bookmark…)

You gotta write, and you gotta write your own stuff, and you have to write stuff you'd want to read. Enjoy writing for its own sake and enjoy what you write, because if you don't, no one else will either.

This book I’m writing is so ridiculous and crazy and I absolutely love it.

Something happened in my story today that I did not see coming and it opened things up in such a gloriously cool way. THIS is why I write. Such moments are crazy highs. Just me, the story, and a pen or pencil and a notebook. Glorious.

Forget the sheep—watch out for rabbits.
